PTO Fundraising Opportunities

• The Pittsfield PTO provides tens of thousands of dollars of financial support to Pittsfield students and teachers each year. These funds enhance the learning environment at Pittsfield by:

  • Supporting teachers and staff in acquiring the supplies they need to help students learn. Staff use the funds to purchase a variety of items they need, including basic items like folders, pencils, paper, craft supplies, tissues, disinfecting wipes, snacks, and books, plus special items like projectors, chairs, shelving/organization units, and more. These items are not provided by the school district and otherwise come out of teachers’ own pockets.

  • Covering 100% of field trip fees and transportation, which would otherwise be passed along to families.

  • Hosting school assemblies.

  • Addressing school-wide needs by creating and stocking a snack closet and keeping the Care Closet full of personal care items, spare clothing, and winter clothing.

  • Supporting school-sponsored events and putting on PTO-sponsored fun, affordable events for the school community.

Fundraising is essential to continue the PTO's mission to support and enhance learning at Pittsfield Elementary School. Your support of these programs directly impacts the academic experience of our students. Thank you for taking an active role in our fundraising activities and programs!

COLOR RUN

The biggest fundraiser each year, Pittsfield’s Color Run is a healthy and fun event for all! Even better, while the children run and have fun, the PTO raises essential funds! 

Register your student here.

Each fall, students will have the opportunity to set up a fundraising portal. Every student registered will receive a prize, and there are motivational incentives for the individuals and classrooms that raise the most money, such as extra recess, donuts with the principal, and pizza parties. If the school meets its goal, the slushie truck will come for a visit!

The Color Run is held during the school day and takes place on the playground. Students will run around a track on the playground, and along the way they can choose to be squirted with colorful powders (or opt out). The PTO will provide new school t-shirts for all students to wear, plus sunglasses for eye protection and shower caps to cover hair if desired. 

The PTO’s ultimate goal is for this fundraiser to be the only annual fundraising event for families. The more money raised through this event, the less we will need to put on other fundraisers.

RESTAURANT NIGHTS

Throughout the school year, the PTO will hold fundraising events at area restaurants where a portion of the sales benefits the PTO. These are win-win-win events: Feed your family, connect with other families in the school community, and support the PTO! Watch for reminders in our communications and on our Facebook page.

• The Pittsfield PTO is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization (Tax ID: 38-3727841). Donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent provided by law. Donate directly to the Pittsfield PTO using these easy methods:

Family Assistance Fund

The PTO has a special Family Support Fund that provides gift cards to families who need a little extra for clothing, groceries, gas, and other basic needs. If you would like to donate to this fund, please include "Family Assistance Fund" in the notes of your payment or check.

The PTO is happy to provide documentation for employer matching programs. Please contact the treasurer at treasurer@pittsfieldpto.com. The Pittsfield Elementary School Parent Teacher
