We appreciate your interest in helping our school! We have many opportunities for families ranging from one time or short-term commitments to recurring roles with our PTO. We will try to keep this list updated so please check back regularly for new opportunities. If you have specific skills that don’t think match any current openings, don’t hesitate to reach out to us – we are happy to find new ways for our families and community to get involved.
School Volunteer Opportunities
This list changes frequently based on need. We currently have a lot of openings for noon hour helpers. This is a great way to jump in and spend an hour or two with the kids on a day that works for you!

Popcorn Fridays
Popcorn Fridays are back! Most Fridays from January to March, volunteers will be coming into Pittsfield to make popcorn for the entire school! The smell that fills the halls from the popcorn machine is magic, and adds a little fun to a sometimes dreary part of the year. We need a little help to pull it off though.

Family Movie Night
This is a free event on Friday, January 30th for all pre-k through 3rd grade students and their families. We need donations of snacks and supplies dropped off by 1/29 and volunteers on the day of the event to make this an epic movie night for all!

Science Olympiad
Every year Pittsfield has a team of 2nd to 5th graders participate in the Washtenaw Elementary Science Olympiad (WESO). We are planning for the 2026 team and are seeking volunteer coaches. Weekly practices typically begin in March and the competition is on May 9th. No prior experience is required. If you are interested, please contact Jackie Goodrich for more details (jaclyn.goodrich@gmail.com). Student sign-ups will be coming out in January. The Open House has been postponed. We are working on rescheduling and will have more info soon!

Teacher/Staff Appreciation Coordinator
Help coordinate events and nice gestures to show appreciation for our staff.PTO Dinner Coordinator
Plan and deliver meals for the monthly PTO meetings (paid for by PTO)Hospitality Coordinator
Coordinate occasional meals/snacks for staff or families during the school day or for after hours events using PTO funds.Event Coordinator
