We appreciate your interest in helping our school! We have many opportunities for families  ranging from one time or short-term commitments to recurring roles with our PTO. We will try to keep this list updated so please check back regularly for new opportunities. If you have specific skills that don’t think match any current openings, don’t hesitate to reach out to us – we are happy to find new ways for our families and community to get involved.

School Volunteer Opportunities

This list changes frequently based on need. We currently have a lot of openings for noon hour helpers. This is a great way to jump in and spend an hour or two with the kids on a day that works for you!

December Staff Appreciation "Hot Beverage Bar"

Help make our staff appreciation event a success! Sign up to bring coffee, tea, sugar, and other items, or help with set-up or clean-up duties.

Current PTO Openings

We have a number of open positions in our PTO. Some of these jobs may sound intimidating, but know that you are never on your own! You will always have support from the PTO and past leads and coordinators who are still happy to help. Expand the items below to read descriptions of each position.

Movie Night Coordinator

Help organize our lower elementary movie night! (Pre-K to 3^rd grade and families).
You will have the PTO behind you and last years coordinator to help answer any questions.
 

Teacher/Staff Appreciation Coordinator

Help coordinate events and nice gestures to show appreciation for our staff.
 

PTO Dinner Coordinator

Plan and deliver meals for the monthly PTO meetings (paid for by PTO)
 

Hospitality Coordinator

Coordinate occasional meals/snacks for staff or families during the school day or for after hours events using PTO funds.
 

Pittsfield Garden Lead

Maintain and invite students into our school garden.
This is an ongoing opportunity with help from other parent volunteers.
 

Event Coordinator

Assist in coordinating PTO sponsored events and activities at the school.
 

5^th Grade Promotion Coordinators (2-3 people)

Assist in planning the 5^th grade promotion ceremony.
Ideal job for a 4^th grade parent.
 

Winter Dance Co-Chairs (2 people)

Coordinate the DJ, volunteers, and set up of our Winter Dance (4^th and 5^th grade students).
 

Ice Cream Social Co-Chairs (2-3 people)

Coordinate the Ice Cream Social event at the end of the school year (usually June) for all students and families.
